"The Spectacular Now" follows the story of Sutter Keely, a teenage alcoholic who struggles to face reality. The book is narrated by Sutter and is filled with crude humor and outrageous behavior, yet it has a certain charisma that makes you love him despite his character flaws. The book has serious elements and a critical ending that the reviewer loved. However, some readers were disappointed with the ending and found the characters underdeveloped and too codependent.
