With the help of this tool, you can make sure that your screws have a Consistent set depth and will not mar the work surface. The tool is designed to work together with screws and plugs cut from Trex Decking. You may purchase the tool and plugs as a unit and the screws separately, in either stainless steel or epoxy-coated steel. The ProPlug System makes installation easy and efficient. However, some users have complained about the tool's durability. The bits wear out pretty quick (a couple of hundred screws), and then they strip out the screw. If the screw is in to the point where you can't grip it with pliers to twist it out, then you have to drill it out. Drilling pilot holes is a must. The little c-clamp broke off, and the spring mechanism doesn't hold together after about 50 screws. It is still usable but not nearly as easy to use. It may be fine for a small deck but not more than one use. The gasket can wear down, but overall, the screws and plugs are great, and it is a must-have tool.
