Answer: Yes. The Tascam sends all of the outputs separately. Not just the stereo mix. All 16 simultaneously. -

Answer: I use a uk power supply with no issues, just check the size of the adapter end as they can vary by a few millimeters. -

Answer: 99% Yes - all it appears to be to a PC is an audio output device. -

Answer: Yes, A 12V power supply came with the mixer & a USB cable. -

What mixing software does this work with ? Is it compatible with protools, cubase etc?
Answer: I use it with logic 9 pro. But i suppose you can use it with cubase etc... -

Answer: Yes, detachable as you would expect! I had a lot of trouble with this unit overheating when mounted with stuff immediately above and below it, it really does need a good airflow around it. -

Can i use audacity to record and control all 8 channels? or will audacity only record 2 channel stereo?
Answer: I tend to only use Audacity for playback in a rehearsal room. Just had a look and I'm pretty sure you only record two tracks at a time in Audacity. Might be worth a look at Reaper for a low-cost solution to Multitrack recording. Incidentally, I use Cubase Pro for recording. The Tascam 16x08 works great in that.
