This is a product Q&A and review for a Purdy carbide scraper. The product is manufactured in China, has a replaceable blade, and replacement blades can be found at a local hardware store. The tool can be used to scrape dried paint and glue off tile floors but is not effective in removing rust and carbon buildup on engines. The scraper is for the flat blade and its curve is convex. It works well in scraping paint and varnish, and even multiple layers of it, but would require a replacement blade. There were some complaints about the stripped screw upon delivery, not coming with a blade, rust, and leaving big scratches on wood. However, some customers loved it to the point of purchasing more to give as gifts. It was also used as a tool for anchor holes and was "better than expected."
